George Formby impersonator

I am 18 years old and have been playing George Formby music for nearly 5 years now. There is one question I am always asked everywhere I go. " How does someone so young get into George Formby music ?"

The answer to that particular question is very simple. The internet. I came across a clip from one of George's films. George was singing one of his songs and upon seeing the clip of him singing and playing the Banjo Ukulele, I was hooked. The tune and words were funny and catchy. His style of playing was like nothing I had ever heard being completely unique. As soon as I heard it, I was set on learning to play the Banjo Ukulele just like George Formby

I purchased a Ukulele from eBay for £20 learning by watching clips of George playing. I soon learned of the George Formby Society, of which I am still a member. I then of course wanted to go to the conventions held in Blackpool. A Teacher at my school suggested that I play in public and arranged our first gig. After that I went on to play at different venues, while still attending the George Formby Society conventions. Now here we are at the present day. I play at different venues and still regularly attend the Society meetings in Blackpool.

Start has performed at the Woodhall Spa 40's festival in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
