Neriida Taylor-Pick My Daughter and I traveled from Australia to attend the event, certainly well worth the trip. Had a fabulous time and found very one we met very warm and welcoming ..... Highly recommend this event to any Over Sea's Travelers ...Woodhall Spa is a wonderful Place to Visit 🙂🙂🙂❤❤❤
Hannah Kelly We came on Sunday, it was our first time. Sadly we missed so much because we didn’t realise there was more at jubilee park and other surrounding areas. Dispute us buying a program. Think as first timers we messed up! This means we will definitely have to come next year!
Maureen Baggaley We have visited Woodall Spa 1940s weekend for 5 years now and of all the 40s events we attend this is our favourite. It gets better every year. Well done to all involved. I do hope that the event returns to its usual weekend next year as this years event did clash with similar ones.
Ian Tomkinson Our second time to this fantastic event , we,ll definitely be back next year , hope the weather is as good
Gary Page My wife and I travelled up from South Wales for the weekend, a big well done to all the organisers and volunteers for an incredible event, we will certainly be back next year.
Kevin Cutlerfinancial Best organised event this year !
Carol Spinks Well deserved praise for ALL involved. We especially enjoyed this year's Event. All the hard work by everyone involved certainly paid off. Plus, we always managed to find a seat when being entertained. We are already looking forward to next year's, which, we are sure, will be even better! Incidentally, I am a proud supporter of your "On the Ration" raffle - and have been for a couple of years now - so far 2 wins - so I like to think I too am doing my bit!
Carl Carl Well done to the organisers -really like that you know the impact / issues of the weekend already -brilliant team !!
Sara Blackbourn Brilliant event and superbly organised parking. The nightmare random parking of previous years is now a thing of the past. Thank you for organising this for our village.
Mark Saunders Hi , fantastic event . My partner and I came to last years show for the day and very much enjoyed it . So much in fact that this year we came for the whole weekend . However , last year in the grounds of pet wood hotel , there were reenactors but none this year . Why was that ? Additionally the combination of woodhall spa and Thorpe camp worked very well in our opinion . I was told at Thorpe camp that the plan is to hold its day separately to woodhalls next year . We live in Hertford and although we would travel to woodhall , we wouldn't necessarily travel up just for Thorpe Camp . To put them on separate days would be a shame in our view as its a great little site packed full of interesting information . Also as great as the entertainment was we did feel it lacked a big swing band for the evening , something for next year perhaps ? These are just some thoughts and we can see ourselves returning again next year
David Brooks An excellent event in every way. I must admit I left my uniform at home due to the heat. I admire those who “stuck to their guns” and carried on regardless. I think there were more in 40’s dress than not.
I will have to hold up a white flag for not being in uniform. Hopefully I won’t be court martialled and will be there next year in appropriate attire.
Karen Bolsover 3rd year in a row for us. Love the event. I have a recommendation for the organisers for next year, a great duo called The Washboard Resonators. Fantastic musicians, and a bit different. Saw them at the Festival of Vintage in York. I am sure they would go down well at one of the venues. http://thewashboardresonators.com/
Sandra Savage It was our first time at this event and although we didn't know our way round we found all the parts of the events. The park and ride as really helpful and we must thank everyone at the Woodhall Spa Bowls Club for their wonderful food and their friendliness. We will be back in 2019
Andrew Doughty Absolutely loved it, our first year. Will definitely be coming back next year. Despite the amount of folk it was a very relaxed atmosphere and lovely day.
Simon Sean Noden The park & ride was well organised and worth every penny, no stress, no hassle wondering where to park. Excellent customer service from the team at Car park D and the buses that kept everyone moving 👍👍
Denise Venning I came to Woodhall Spa for the first time. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fantastic. The only thing I didn’t enjoy seeing was the amount of dogs brought to the event in the sweltering heat. I saw some dogs really panting and suffering. As a dog owner myself, knowing how hot it was going to be I left my dogs at home. .........otherwise I was amazed at the great atmosphere and people who made it worthwhile. 😀
Rachel Collins A fabulous weekend, massive thanks to all involved for making it a superb weekend, plus a big pat to all the volunteers, the sponsors and all the visitors like me for dressing up and setting the party spirit x
Sandra Hall Had a fabulous time on both days. It was our first time and we will certainly be back next year. Thanks so much to all involved 😎😎😎

Lancashire Belle Having already privately thanked all those involved in the planning and execution of this year's wonderful Woodhall Spa 1940's Festival, I feel that it's well overdue I now do so publicly! This also enables me to extend my thanks to all the venues and businesses that participate in making the event such a huge success, and to those often unsung folk without whom none of it would happen - the many volunteers, who might feel their hard work and contribution goes completely unnoticed. It really doesn't, I assure you.
I'd also like to thank everyone in Woodhall Spa, as well as all those visiting over the course of the weekend, and not forgetting all my fellow entertainers, who made this Lancashire Lass so very welcome. In fact, this is my third time performing at the event, having had to miss out last year due to other commitments. By 'eck (as we say in Lancashire)... it's really grown in that time! I appreciate all too well that the bigger an event becomes, the more issues there can be. But in my experience of performing at 1940s events, Woodhall Spa sets the standard. It is an honour and a privilege to be part of such a fabulous event - and I had the most fun weekend, with some lovely audiences and some great dancers. If I didn't quite have the biggest stroll of the weekend on Sunday, I'm pretty sure we came close to it! So thank you Woodhall Spa, thank you Lincolnshire, thank you to every last one of the 45,000 visitors who attended this year's event and who, judging from the many hundreds of social media posts and images I’ve since waded through, enjoyed the whole experience as much as I did. Thank you, Woodhall Spa.
