living history groups

Living History Groups and Military Vehicles

This year’s show see’s the exciting arrival of some new Re-enactment groups and displays to the village over three areas.

Firstly Jubilee Park has two sections of displays, the main area near the cricket club and the small area next to the bowling club.

The woods along Coronation Road will be home to over 200 re-enactors with lots of new displays both sides of the road and further into the woods.

The woods during the later part of the war were used by the 1st Battalion Border regiment as a base camp before they left to take part in operation Market Garden in Holland.

They were part of the 1st Airlanding Brigade that was stationed in and around Woodhall Spa.

The third display area is in the Petwood hotel ground’s and comprises of a full size Spitfire fighter aircraft plus ground crew and a large mobile control tower.

The grounds of the Petwood hotel will also be the location for a battle skirmish on both days.

There will be plenty of military vehicles to see in all three areas ranging from motorbikes to tanks plus more along the main street in the village.
