First our much loved shops slowly reopened and now our great bars cafes and hotels are safely returning to normal.

Two weeks today we were due to be welcoming thousands of you for our Festival. Alas fate had other ideas but have no fear, we’ll return with a bang next year. Keep 17th-18th July 2021 free in your diaries!
In order to keep our village and villagers safe, please do not travel to see us for what would have been our festival weekend expecting to find the usual festival entertainments. You won’t find any aspect of the festival at all and let’s not forget that we’re not out of the Covid woods quite yet. Stay home and stay safe.
We’ll miss seeing you all in your 40s finery though… so why not still let us see via the magic of Facebook? We’re still running our annual Best Dressed competition and there’ll be a certificate for the 2020 Best Dressed Man, Woman, Boy and Girl.
All you have to do is upload a photo of yourself taken at home to our Facebook page dressed in your 1940s best any time between 9am Saturday 18th and 5pm on Sunday 19th and the photos from each category that get the most likes will get a certificate in the post. Simple as that!
Don’t worry about your outfit being authentic 40s (although that’s great!) – it’s all about the look, feel and above all spirit of the festival that will drive the likes. Military or civilian, with or without accessories, inside or in the garden – it’s all up to you!
We’ll choose the winner based on the highest number of likes for each category after 5pm on Sunday 19th July and be in touch in the following days with each winner. You’ll get a certificate and will be featured in our 2021 showguide.
